Selous Impala camp is situated on the banks of the Rufiji River. Boat Safaris depart in the morning and the afternoons and are recommended as a must do when you visit Selous.
The Rufiji is a large wide river with several lakes branching off it for you to explore, gaining a unique view of the river's largest inhabitants: crocodiles and hippos.
Boat Safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The Selous has over 350 bird species, and the river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open environment.
You might also want to try your luck with the ferocious tiger fish, and weighty catfish that live in the waters in abundance.
