It is kind of fun to see the larks lions get up to. Its almost like they have the playfulness of domestic cats, it must be a feline characteristic.

These fallen tree trunks are perfect for practising balancing skills. Lions like a challenge!

In Lake Manyara National Park, lions are well known for perching in trees. We think it is because, as in Selous, they prefer to be higher and drier.

Lions relaxing at a favourite picnic spot in the Selous Game Reserve.

This is our favourite shot - lions take over one of the picnic sites in Selous, and the cubs clearly love perching on the nice dry bench. It would be a little disconcerting to turn up at this spot and expect to have your lunch!

If you are interested in going to Lake Manze camp, it is owned by Essential Destinations.

The camp is currently closed for the long rains, but will reopen on 1st June.

There is a great 4 for 3 offer in low season at all the ED properties including Manze - pay 3 nights get the 4th free. Low season periods are: June, Nov, 1-20 Dec and 10 Jan to 15 March.

In high season there are also offers in place if you combine with some of the other ED properties - Mdonya Old River camp in Ruaha, and Fanjove Private Island, SongoSongo.
