In the Ruaha National Park it is difficult to visit without seeing at least one pride of lions. According to the Ruaha Carnivore Project, the Ruaha holds 10% of Africa's entire lions.

These beautiful studies are taken by Andrea Pompele, a manager at Mdonya Old River Camp, where the local "Mdonya pride" is commonly to be seen and heard in the camp environs.
