My favourite recent photos from Mdonya
I visited Mdonya Old River camp in Ruaha in March, just before the long rains closed the camps down till June. It was a marvel of greenery and you could see the animals enjoying the lush vegetation. Water was flowing everywhere and this hippo was in the sand river not far from camp.
On the way to camp from the airstrip we stopped for a picnic by the Mwagusi - usually a sand river but flowing merrily at this time.
That evening we enjoyed a sundowner, taking our chairs to the middle of the Mdonya sand river - also flowing, so we could cool our feet in the rippling water.
There was time to enjoy the last of the light at my tent, overlooking the verdant bush.
